Asthma control is about more than just treating symptoms; it is about managing your asthma so that you have few or no symptoms in the first place. When you have an asthma attack, there is swelling or inflammation in the airways of your lungs. Uncontrolled inflammation makes your airways more sensitive to asthma triggers like pollen, dust, and smoke. Exposure to these triggers can lead to constriction (tightening) of the muscles around your airways, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, wheezing, tightness of the chest, and coughing. Is your Asthma Under Control? Yes ___ No ___ Do you experience asthma symptoms more than twice a week? Yes ___ No ____ Do you use your rescue inhalers more than twice a week? Yes ___ No ____ Do your asthma symptoms limit your activities? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might not be in control of your asthma and it is important that you talk to your doctor. Our pharmacists at Chancy Drugs are also experts in asthma management and we can help you determine if your asthma is under control. Many patients also do not understand the difference between medications used for long term suppression of asthma symptoms (maintenance inhalers) and those used to treat an acute asthma attack (rescue inhalers). Our highest mission at Chancy Drugs is to improve the quality of life in our patients and the community in general. Please schedule a one-on-one consultation with an Asthma Management expert today – and prepare to be served.
